“I have just come from the village maracana. Peace was not possible by a succession of levianidades:
1-the Government (Department of Social Welfare and Human Rights of the State) refused to negotiate on the spot and said that only negotiated after removed all indigenous. That stance led to an impasse.
2-bailiffs preferred speed than the quality of the “order” of eviction, by vetoing proposals which would take too long and ignoring including the condition expressly raised by the judge not to use any form of violence.
3-the PM reneged on his word not to act with violence in the workplace disengagement, even with protesters already yielding and coming out of their own will, as with the gates open and without lock …
Result: several injured and detained. To public authorities, as parliamentarians, prosecutors and defenders left with swollen face so much pepper. In the end, the PM said he joined the site because there was fire spreading, which is an outright lie! Before the PM enter the village, firefighters entered and ended up with the bonfires that protesters had made.
Without the truth and without political will, it is difficult to build peace …
