In Pôrto Real do Colégio (Alagoas, Brazil) Sao Francisco River’s suffering … Dzubucua Kariri Xocó wants to save the Rio São Francisco

 
Continental Indigenous Resistance Blog we sympathise with the leader Yachycoran Kariri Xocó and Dzubucua indigenous Association Kariri Xocó for environmental recovery of the São Francisco River in the city of Porto Real do Colégio, Alagoas, Brazil. In this city there is still no environmental Secretariat. We asked Federal prosecutors in Alagoas if relatives Kariri Xócó can receive support from the city, State or Federal Government to remove the garbage from the banks of the São Francisco River in Porto Real do Colégio and make the environmental recovery of the soil, as well as the recovery of native riparian forest, with the right to make organic farming subsistênca (traditional agriculture Kariri Xocó) with this generating jobs and income to the village Kariri Xocó. To lobby on the seriousness of the situation the people originally Kariri Xocó shows these pictures from the edge of the São Francisco River in Pôrto Real, Alagoas:
